The Tower of Campomoro, or torra di Campumoru in Corsican, is a historical Genoese tower situated in the municipality of Belvédère-Campomoro, in the French department of South Corsica. This tower is a part of the rich historical heritage of the region and offers a glimpse into the past.
The Tower of Campomoro was restored in 1986 and is currently under the ownership of the Coastal Conservatory. The management of the tower has been entrusted to the Elisa union. Recognizing its historical significance, the tower was listed as a historical monument by a decree issued on August 4, 1992.
The Tower of Campomoro is open to the public for six months of the year, from April to October. Under the management of the Elisa union, visitors are allowed to explore the star-shaped enclosure. The tower itself is also accessible to visitors, housing a permanent exhibition that provides insights into the history of the Genoese towers in Corsica and the Barbary invasion.
