Tour 46, located in Belfort in the Territory of Belfort in Burgundy-Franche-Comté, is a former bastioned tower. It is part of the fortified enclosure built at the end of the 17th century by Vauban. Today, it serves as a museum, providing a unique historical perspective for visitors.
The Tour 46 was an integral part of the fortified enclosure constructed by Vauban at the end of the 17th century. Vauban's intervention in Belfort in 1687 led to the expansion and modernization of the enclosure, giving it a pentagonal shape with five bastioned towers occupying the corners.
In addition to its historical significance, Tour 46 also serves as a space for temporary exhibitions. This allows visitors to not only learn about the history of the tower and its role in the fortified enclosure, but also to enjoy various exhibitions that are hosted there.
