Tierpark Irgenöd and its collection

The Vogel- und Tierpark Irgenöd, located on the northeastern outskirts of Ortenburg in the Lower Bavarian district of Passau, is a notable destination for animal and nature lovers. The park was built by Erich Schobesberger as a bird park and was opened to the public in 1975. It offers a unique opportunity to explore a variety of bird and animal species in a natural setting.

Biodiversity at Vogel- und Tierpark Irgenöd

Today, Vogel- und Tierpark Irgenöd is home to around 100 different bird species and 14 mammal species, spread over an area of six hectares. The diversity of species and the spaciousness of the park provide visitors with an immersive experience of nature and wildlife. The park's name was changed to reflect the variety of animals it houses.

Animal Species at Vogel- und Tierpark Irgenöd

Vogel- und Tierpark Irgenöd is a member of the German Zoo Society and the German Wild Park Association, reflecting its commitment to animal welfare and conservation. The park houses a variety of special bird species and mammals. Bird species include the Helmeted Cassowary, Falkland Caracara, various hornbill species, Pink Flamingos, Bald Eagles, Andean Condors, Marabou, various crane species, various parrot and parakeet species, and various owl species. The mammals in the park include Miniature Horses, Bactrian Camels, Meerkats, Squirrel Monkeys, Chapman's Zebras, Bennett's Kangaroos, Patagonian Maras, Ring-tailed Lemurs, White-tufted Marmosets, White-handed Gibbons, Liszt Monkeys, Llamas, and Chinese Muntjacs.
