One of the key features of the Mill of Kintail Conservation Area is an 1830s grist mill. This mill was once the summer home and sculpture studio of R. Tait McKenzie, a medical doctor, sculptor, and native of Ramsay Township. McKenzie's connection to the mill adds a layer of historical and cultural significance to the site.
The mill houses the R. Tait Mackenzie Museum, which showcases a collection of the artist's sculptures and memorabilia. Additionally, the Naismith Museum is also located within the mill. This museum is dedicated to James Naismith, another notable native of Ramsay Township, who is known as the inventor of basketball. These museums provide a rich cultural experience for visitors.
