The Power Plant Contemporary Art Gallery is a public contemporary art gallery located in the heart of Toronto, Ontario at the Harbourfront Centre. Free Admission to The Power Plant
In 2012, to celebrate its 25th anniversary, The Power Plant Contemporary Art Gallery introduced the ALL YEAR, ALL FREE initiative. This initiative offers free admission and open access to the public for all exhibitions, making contemporary art more accessible to a wider audience. This initiative continues to this day, allowing visitors to explore the gallery's exhibitions at no cost.
The Power Plant and the Harbourfront Centre
The Power Plant Contemporary Art Gallery is a key attraction of the Harbourfront Centre, a cultural organization located on Toronto's waterfront. While the gallery operates independently with its own Board of Directors, it receives support from the Harbourfront Centre in terms of maintenance, improvements to the physical site, and financial support. This relationship allows the gallery to continue its mission of presenting contemporary visual art to the public.
