The Military Museums in Calgary, Alberta, is a restructured version of the former Museum of the Regiments. This transformation was announced by Sophie, Countess of Wessex, on June 3, 2006. The museum now includes the former Museum of the Regiments, the relocated Naval Museum of Alberta, and an Air Force Wing.
The Military Museums is dedicated to preserving and documenting the history of all three environmental commands of the Canadian Forces. These include the Royal Canadian Navy, the Canadian Army, and the Royal Canadian Air Force. The museum places a particular emphasis on the history of Alberta.
The Military Museums houses four galleries that are dedicated to four regiments. In addition to these, there is also a gallery that is devoted to the history of all military units in Alberta. These galleries provide a comprehensive overview of the military history of the region.
