The Fergusson Gallery

The Fergusson Gallery, located in the Perth Water Works Building, is a significant historical site. Originally built in 1832, the building was designed by Adam Anderson, the then headmaster of Perth Academy, for the purpose of supplying water to the city of Perth. The water was pumped from Moncreiffe Island in the Tay through an underground pipeline using steam engines. The building was capable of almost entirely supplying the city's water needs at the time of its construction.

The Fergusson Gallery is primarily dedicated to showcasing the works of the renowned Scottish painter John Duncan Fergusson. Since 1998, the gallery has been home to a vast collection of Fergusson's works, making it a significant destination for art enthusiasts and those interested in Scottish art history.
