The Dock Museum features exhibits related to Decorative and Applied Art, Weapons and War, Coins and Medals, Film and Media, Social History, Fine Art, Archaeology, Costume and Textiles, Industry, Maritime and Photography. Key themes, people and exhibits in the museum include The Dock Museum has a superb collection of ship models donated by the Barrow shipyard. Newly added to the collection is TSS Oriana, a very unusual mechanised model from the early 1960s. The film show is very popular with visitors, six minute films explain the mushroom-like expansion of Barrow in the nineteenth century, today's Barrow and the history of the shipyard.
