The Barnes Arboretum, located in Merion, Pennsylvania, is a non-profit arboretum and botanical garden that spans across 5 hectares (12 acres). It is a member of the Botanical Gardens Conservation International (BGCI) and is recognized internationally as a botanical institution. The arboretum is open to the public daily without charge.
The Barnes Foundation, established in 1922, is dedicated to promoting the development of education and appreciation of fine arts and horticulture. It carries out its mission through teaching, research, and other art and Arboretum-related programs. The Foundation also provides public access to the Arboretum and the gallery that houses the main collection of paintings, sculptures, and other works of art.
The botanical garden at the Barnes Arboretum features an exceptional collection of rare and uncommon trees and other woody plants from around the world.
