The site features Steele's studio-home, known as the House of the Singing Winds, and the Large Studio where he created many of his paintings. The grounds include beautiful gardens and hiking trails that showcase the natural beauty that inspired Steele's landscapes.

Visitors appreciate the well-preserved buildings and the informative guided tours that provide context about Steele's life and artistic process. The site's peaceful atmosphere and picturesque surroundings are often highlighted as standout features. Many reviewers enjoy exploring the trails and taking in the scenic views that were the subject of many of Steele's paintings.

Some visitors note that the site is relatively small and can be thoroughly explored in a few hours. While this is perfect for some, others might find the experience somewhat limited. A few reviewers mention that the site might not be as engaging for younger children or those not particularly interested in art history.
