In 1938, the Sunnhordland Museum moved to its own building in Vidsteenparken in Leirvik. Over time, a courtyard of historical houses from all over Sunnhordland has been established in the park, providing a unique insight into the region's architectural history.
Beyond its main location, the Sunnhordland Museum also oversees eight other courtyards and collections throughout the Sunnhordland region. These additional sites further enrich the museum's offerings and provide visitors with a broader understanding of the area's history and culture.
