The Strossmayer Gallery of Old Masters is an art museum in Zagreb that is housed in the Croatian Academy of Sciences and Arts. The collection it holds and exhibits was donated to the city by Bishop Josip Juraj Strossmayer in 1884. The collection contains around 4,000 works, of which around 250 are on display in the Strossmayer Gallery of Old Masters itself. It includes works by European painters from 14th-19th century that are segmented into three groups: Italian, French and Northern European (which itself includes German, Flemish and Dutch paintings). Besides this the museum has some works by Croatian painters on display.
