The Strossmayer Gallery of Old Masters in Zagreb, Croatia, offers visitors a notable collection of European art from the 14th to 19th centuries. Located in the historic Zagreb Academy building, the gallery showcases works by renowned artists such as Bellini, Carpaccio, and El Greco.

Visitors appreciate the gallery's well-curated collection, which provides a comprehensive overview of European art history. The intimate setting allows for a close examination of the artworks, enhancing the viewing experience. Many guests find the audio guide helpful in providing context and background information about the pieces.

However, some visitors note that the gallery is relatively small compared to major European museums, which may disappoint those expecting a more extensive collection. Additionally, a few reviewers mention that some areas of the museum could benefit from better lighting to fully appreciate the details of the paintings.

The staff is generally described as knowledgeable and helpful, contributing to a positive experience. The gallery's central location in Zagreb makes it easily accessible for tourists exploring the city.

While the Strossmayer Gallery may not be as expansive as some other European art museums, it offers a quality experience for art enthusiasts and those interested in European cultural history. Its manageable size allows for a thorough exploration in a couple of hours, making it a worthwhile stop for visitors to Zagreb with an interest in classical art.
