St Andrews Botanic Garden is a living research and conservation experiment where we explore the ways ecology and evolution unfold in the plant kingdom - right at the heart of historic St Andrews. We're home to some of the most dynamic plants and habitats, from both Fife and around the world. We aim to address the new combination of challenges the natural world is facing with positivity, creating an ecologically vibrant place to explore and learn about evolution and botany. Our newest addition is the Tangled Bank, showcasing the very best of North East Fife plant life. Incorporating sand dunes, meadows, glades, meandering grass paths and a boardwalk, the Tangled Bank is a beautiful space to spend time.

The garden features a diverse collection of plant species, including both native and exotic varieties. Visitors appreciate the well-maintained grounds and the peaceful atmosphere, making it a nice spot for a relaxing stroll or a picnic.
The garden includes various sections such as a rock garden, herb garden, and tropical greenhouses, providing a range of environments to explore. Many visitors find the glasshouses particularly interesting, housing exotic plants and offering a warm retreat on cooler days.
While not extensive, the garden provides informative labels on many plants, which visitors find helpful for learning. The staff are generally described as knowledgeable and friendly, often willing to answer questions.
Some visitors note that the garden is relatively small compared to other botanical gardens, which might be disappointing for those expecting a larger attraction. Additionally, a few reviewers mention that some areas could benefit from more regular maintenance.
The garden also hosts occasional events and exhibitions, which add value to the experience when available. However, some visitors feel that the admission price is a bit high for the size of the garden.
