The Spurn Lightship was decommissioned in 1975 and later bought and restored by the Hull City Council in 1983. It was then moved to Hull Marina and opened as a museum in 1987, providing visitors with a unique insight into maritime history. However, the museum closed in June 2018 in preparation for the vessel's relocation.
In October 2021, the Spurn Lightship was moved to a private shipyard for restoration as part of a £30 million project. After the renovation, it will be displayed alongside the Arctic Corsair trawler. The ship was returned to the marina on 9 March 2023 and in February 2024, it was relocated to a newly constructed mooring in the marina, close to Murdoch's Connection footbridge.

Spurn Lightship has 1 rating.
The Spurn Lightship, located in Hull's Marina, offers visitors a glimpse into maritime history. This restored vessel, which once guided ships through treacherous waters, now serves as a floating museum. Visitors can explore the ship's quarters and learn about the life of lightship crews. The exhibits provide information on navigation techniques and the importance of lightships in maritime safety. While some visitors appreciate the historical significance and find the experience educational, others note that the museum is relatively small and can be explored quickly. The authenticity of the vessel and its well-preserved condition are often highlighted as positives. However, some reviewers mention that more interactive displays or guided tours could enhance the experience. The location in the marina adds to the atmosphere, but accessibility might be an issue for some visitors. Overall, the Spurn Lightship offers an interesting, if brief, look into a specific aspect of maritime heritage.
