The Solar Condes de Resende, also referred to as Quinta da Costa, is an ancient manor situated in Canelas, in the Municipality of Vila Nova de Gaia, District of Porto, in Portugal. Today, it serves as the Municipal House of Culture. This historic property has a rich history dating back to the late 10th or early 11th century, as documented in the 'Carta de Negrelos' (1042).
In 1982, the manor was acquired by the Municipality of Vila Nova de Gaia. After undergoing restoration, it was requalified as the Municipal House of Culture. Today, it houses a library, an archaeological museum, a collection of works by Marciano Azuaga, a camellia garden with a statue of Eça de Queirós, and exhibition rooms. It hosts various cultural and educational events such as temporary exhibitions, painting classes, English classes, colloquiums, ballroom dances, and others.
