Sítio do Picapau Amarelo, or The Yellow Woodpecker Farm, is a series of 23 fantasy novels penned by renowned Brazilian author Monteiro Lobato between 1920 and 1940. Frank Baum's The Wonderful Wizard of Oz series.
The primary setting of the series is Sítio do Picapau Amarelo, a place where a boy and a girl, along with their sentient toys, embark on various adventures. These adventures are filled with elements of fantasy, discovery, and learning, making the series a captivating read for children and adults alike.
Sítio do Picapau Amarelo has been adapted into various forms of media over the years. It has been made into two feature films in the 1950s and 1970s, and several television series. The most popular adaptations are the television series produced by Rede Globo, which aired from 1977 to 1986 and again from 2001 to 2007.
