Shedd Aquarium is a public aquarium situated in Chicago. It forms part of a museum campus located just south of Grant Park, which also houses a natural science museum and a planetarium. This campus is one of the major tourist attractions in Chicago, offering a variety of experiences for visitors.
The aquarium is divided into several zones, with the Caribbean Reef and the Oceanarium being the most significant. The Caribbean Reef is home to about 70 different species, including sharks and stingrays. Visitors can enjoy a beautiful overview of reef life from behind the aquarium's windows.
The enormous, 11,400 m large Oceanarium provides an overview of marine life along the north coast of the Pacific Ocean. The Oceanarium houses Beluga whales, sea otters, and seals. The stars of this section are the white-striped dolphins. Visitors can enjoy several shows daily, and thanks to the vast size of the Oceanarium, the dolphins have plenty of space to showcase their speed to the visitors.
