Sforza Castle in Dozza

Since 1960, the castle-fortress has been owned by the municipality and has been transformed into a museum. Visitors can explore ten rooms on the noble floor, which have retained their original appearance. Additional areas of interest include the armory, the prisons, which still house historical torture instruments, and the characteristic razor well. These features provide a unique insight into the castle's past and the lives of its inhabitants.

Art Collections at the Castle

The second floor of the fortress houses a small but interesting art gallery, where visitors can admire a collection of works by Norma Mascellani, a Bolognese painter who was granted honorary citizenship. The third floor of the Rocca is home to the Study and Documentation Center of the Painted Wall, which preserves over 150 sketches, studies, and archival and bibliographic documents of the contemporary art biennial. These collections offer a unique opportunity to delve into the local art and culture.

Emilia-Romagna Wine Shop at the Castle

Ten years after the acquisition of the fortress, the Municipality of Dozza established a wine shop within the castle, showcasing the best of Emilian and Romagnol wine production. In 1978, the Emilia-Romagna Region, by special law, recognized the Dozza wine shop as an ideal platform for promoting regional wine both in Italy and abroad. Officially inaugurated on May 26, 1990, as the "Emilia-Romagna Wine Shop", it covers about 1000 square meters and occupies the basement and part of the ground floor of the Rocca di Dozza. The shop displays 10,000 bottles, highlighting 450 distinct labels.
