The Sensenwerk in Deutschfeistritz, which was closed in 1984, was the last of its kind in Styria. Today, the two production halls are under monument protection and house the "Museum Sensenwerk Deutschfeistritz". This offers a unique opportunity for tourists to explore the history and production process of scythes in a preserved and authentic environment.
All production machines are still preserved in the two halls of the Sensenwerk. In the southern hall, visitors can find all the machines used to manufacture a scythe blank, while the northern hall was where the pointing, grinding, hardening, and fine work was done. This allows tourists to get a comprehensive understanding of the scythe production process from start to finish.
