The Scott County Home, a historic county home, is situated just a mile south of Scottsburg in Scott County, Indiana. This structure was originally built in 1872, serving as a replacement for the previous County Home that was located in Lexington, Indiana.
In 2001, the building was transformed into the Scott County Heritage Center and Museum. Today, the Museum showcases local exhibits that delve into the history of Scott County. Some of the notable exhibits include the Pigeon Roost Massacre, General John Hunt Morgan's Raid, and the Marshfield train robbery by the Reno Brothers.
The Scott County Home was officially listed on the National Register of Historic Places in the year 2000, further cementing its historical significance.
