Schleiper Hammer, located in Kierspe, is a former hammer mill that has been transformed into a technology museum. This museum showcases the tradition of broadware forging in the upper Volme valley during the 1930s. It also features an exhibit on the early days of Bakelite pressing, a manufacturing process that also developed in the upper Volme valley during the 1930s.
Visitors can explore the Schleiper Hammer museum by appointment. Additionally, the museum opens its doors to the public on Mill Day, which falls on Pentecost Monday, and on Open Monument Day, which is celebrated on the second Sunday in September. The museum also hosts an Advent market on the first Advent weekend, offering a unique cultural experience.
