The Sawtooth Botanical Garden is a unique 5-acre altitude botanical garden nestled within the Sawtooth National Forest in Ketchum, Idaho. This location offers visitors a chance to explore the diverse flora of the region in a serene and beautiful setting.
Established in 1994, the Sawtooth Botanical Garden was designed with the aim of representing the five most characteristic biomes of south-central Idaho. This gives visitors a unique opportunity to experience the diverse ecosystems of the region in one place.
The Garden of Infinite Compassion was built in anticipation of the visit of the 14th Dalai Lama Tenzin Gyatso on September 13, 2005. During his visit, the Dalai Lama blessed the garden. A significant feature of the garden is a finely carved Tibetan prayer wheel, weighing 400 pounds and filled with over a million mantra writings, which was gifted to the garden on this occasion.
