The museums house a wide range of archaeological remains, including those from Şanlıurfa, known as Edessa in ancient times, Göbekli Tepe, Karahan Tepe, and Harran. They also feature findings from the Southeastern Anatolia Project and ruins discovered in the hydroelectric dam reservoirs of Atatürk Dam, Birecik Dam, and Karkamış Dam.
The Şanlıurfa Archaeology and Mosaic Museums consist of two main buildings. The archaeology museum is located to the north, while the mosaic museum is to the south. In addition to the exhibition halls, the museums also feature offices, a museum lab, a library, restaurants, markets, and a playground for children.
Among the notable exhibits in the museums is the Urfa Man statue, which dates back to around 9000 BC. This statue is considered to be the oldest life-sized sculpture of a human ever discovered.
