The San Francisco Museum of Modern Art is open on Mondays. This art museum has splendid paintings and works of Art done by 20th Century and Contemporary Artists. The following paintings were among my favorites;Henri Matisse's "Woman With Hat",Fernand Leger's"Two Women in Blue Background",Diego Rivera's"Flower Carrier",Dorothea Tanning's"Self Portrait"(quintessential Surrealism),Carlos Villa's"Painted Cloak",Wayne Thiebaud's"Pineapple Tray",Robert Colescott's"Colored Tv",Sigmar Polke's"Untitled"and Sargent Johnson's"Negro Woman"(sculpture).I also relished Ragner Kjartanson's musical video,"Visitors",temporarily on display and Kara Walker's mixed media creation,"Fortuna and The Machine". The price of admission is a bit pricey, but the experience of returning to this delightful art museum after eleven years was priceless.
