The Saitama Museum of Natural History is located in Nagatoro, a town in the Saitama Prefecture of Japan. This prefectural museum is dedicated to the study and display of natural history, offering visitors a chance to explore the rich biodiversity and geological history of the region.
One of the highlights of the Saitama Museum of Natural History's collection is the 56 pieces of a Stegodon aurorae skeleton that was discovered in 1975. An additional three pieces of this skeleton can be found in the Sayama City Museum. Both collections have been recognized as Prefectural Natural Monuments, underscoring their significance in the region's natural history.
