The Sagrada Família, also known as the Temple Expiatori de la Sagrada Família, is an unfinished church located in Barcelona, Catalonia, Spain. This architectural marvel is widely recognized as the masterpiece of the renowned architect Antoni Gaudí.
Antoni Gaudí was assigned to the Sagrada Família project in 1883, leading to a complete transformation of the original design. He dedicated over 40 years of his life to this project, with the last 15 years solely focused on this monumental construction.
The facades of the Sagrada Família were designed by Gaudí to symbolize the birth, death, and resurrection of Jesus. His architectural plan included twelve towers representing the apostles and four towers for the evangelists, with heights ranging from 90 to 120 meters. Additionally, two other towers were intended to represent Jesus and the Virgin Mary.
