Royal Armoury has 1 rating.
The Royal Armoury in Stockholm, Sweden, offers visitors a comprehensive look into Swedish royal history through its impressive collection of armor, weapons, and royal carriages. Located in the basement of the Royal Palace, this museum showcases items dating back to the 16th century. Many visitors appreciate the well-preserved artifacts and the opportunity to see real historical items up close. The museum's highlights include the clothes worn by King Gustav III when he was assassinated and the armor of King Erik XIV. The exhibits are generally well-organized and provide informative descriptions in both Swedish and English. However, some visitors note that the lighting in certain areas could be improved for better visibility of the artifacts. The museum is relatively small, which allows for a focused and manageable visit, typically lasting around 1-2 hours. While it may not appeal to everyone, those interested in history, particularly Swedish royal history and military artifacts, find it engaging and worthwhile. The free admission is often cited as a positive aspect, making it an accessible option for tourists and locals alike. Some visitors suggest that more interactive elements or guided tours could enhance the experience, especially for younger visitors or those less familiar with Swedish history.
