The Rischmannshof Heath Museum, located in Walsrode, Germany, is an open-air museum that was inaugurated in 1912. It is one of the first open-air museums in the country, offering a unique insight into the rural life and history of the region.
The museum is composed of a rural farmyard with various outbuildings and exhibits. One of the main attractions is a thatched, timber-framed hall house that dates back to 1798. This house, originally located in Hartem near Fallingbostel, was reconstructed in Walsrode, providing a glimpse into the architectural style and living conditions of the time.
The upper floor of the museum building houses a Hans Brüggemann exhibition, which provides a depiction of some of the history of the town of Walsrode. Additionally, the Hermann Löns Room is located on this floor, featuring original objects and furniture belonging to the poet and author, as well as first editions of his works, autographs, and publications.
