The Regionalmuseum Römervilla is a Roman museum located in Grenzach-Wyhlen, in the district of Lörrach. The museum is centered around an excavated "villa urbana", a type of Roman city dwelling. This villa is considered one of the most significant Roman-era excavations in the area south of Freiburg im Breisgau.
The museum was founded in 1986 in a protective building that was constructed over the remains of the villa. The establishment of the museum was largely driven by Erhard Richter. The museum is managed by the Archaeology Working Group of the Association for Local History Grenzach-Wyhlen, which also initiated the museum construction and organized its financing.
In addition to its historical exhibits, the museum also hosts concerts and art exhibitions. It displays a selection of archaeological finds from the site in Grenzach and 17 other locations in the district of Lörrach. These include a bronze horse head, a glass vessel, shell ornaments in painted stucco strips, a bronze lock plate, bronze fibulae, and turned bone tools such as needles, needle boxes, and spinning whorls.
