The 1. Räuchermann-Museum, located in Cranzahl in the Erzgebirgskreis in Saxony, is a unique institution in Germany. It is the only museum of its kind in the country, dedicated to the tradition of Räuchermann, or 'smoking men'.
Established in 2011 in a former dye works, the museum officially opened its doors in the spring of 2012. It boasts a collection of over 2000 different smoking figures from the 20th and 21st centuries, displayed over an area of 200 square meters.
The exhibits at the museum, which include vehicles for incense cones, come from various manufacturers throughout the Erzgebirge region. Some pieces are also on loan from private individuals. These exhibits provide a comprehensive overview of the history of smoking man production.
