The Raccolte Frugone, located in Genoa, Italy, is a small but noteworthy art museum housed in the beautiful Villa Grimaldi Fassio in Nervi. The museum showcases a collection of 19th and early 20th-century Italian art, primarily focusing on the Ligurian school of painting.

Visitors often appreciate the museum's intimate setting, which allows for a close-up view of the artworks. The collection includes paintings, sculptures, and decorative arts, with a particular emphasis on works by artists such as Domenico Induno, Telemaco Signorini, and Giovanni Boldini. The quality of the pieces on display is generally considered to be good, offering a representative sample of Italian art from the period.

The museum's location in the picturesque Nervi Park is frequently mentioned as a positive aspect, with many visitors combining their museum visit with a stroll through the park and along the scenic promenade. The villa itself, with its elegant architecture and period furnishings, adds to the overall experience.

However, some visitors note that the museum is relatively small and can be explored in a short amount of time. The lack of detailed information in languages other than Italian is occasionally cited as a drawback for international visitors. Additionally, some reviewers mention that the lighting in certain areas could be improved to better showcase the artworks.

While the Raccolte Frugone may not be as extensive or well-known as some of Genoa's larger museums, it offers a pleasant and informative experience for those interested in Italian art from the 19th and early 20th centuries. Its peaceful setting and focused collection make it a worthwhile stop for art enthusiasts visiting Genoa, though it may not be a top priority for those with limited time in the city.

The Frugone Art Collection emphasizes Italian Paintings produced between 1860 and 1930 by Italian Painters. The subject matter of the vast majority of paintings on display is secular.. On my recent visit to the Frugone collection the following paintings were worthy of delectation;Guisseppe de Nittis'"Woman on Horseback at Bois de Boulogne"and "Hammock"(fine Italian Iimpressionism),Giacomo Grosso's"Venice",Giovanni Fattori's"Oxen and Ploughman":,Telemacho Signorini('s"Ligurian Vegetation in Riomaggiore",,Alberto Pasini's"Castle of Romeji Hissar", Giovanni Favretto's"Musical Family",and Gino Segantini's"Lovers".I also was impressed with the fine Spanish Impressionist Paintings by Joaquin Sorrolla("Boy Taking Nap on Boat").I liked the Frugone's cozy atmosphere. The Frugone Collection is by a lovely park in the Nervi area of Genoa.
