The Presidential Archives and Leadership Library is situated at 4919 East University Blvd. in Odessa, Texas. It is conveniently located on the campus of the University of Texas of the Permian Basin, making it easily accessible for visitors. The library offers a wealth of information and resources for those interested in presidential history and leadership studies.
In 2011, the contents of the Presidential Museum, including the library, were transferred to the University of Texas of the Permian Basin (UTPB). The facility was then reopened to researchers and the public as the Presidential Archives and Leadership Library. This move has allowed the library to continue its mission of providing valuable resources on presidential history and leadership to the public.
The Presidential Museum, now known as the "Friends of the Presidential Archives," is a nonprofit corporation. It was formed in the State of Texas in September 1978 and is exempt from taxation under section 501 (c) (3). This status allows the museum to focus on its mission of preserving and sharing presidential history and leadership resources without the burden of taxation.
