I am absolutely appalled by my behavior with this would-be incredible historic location. Not only was a young volunteer subjected to sexual harassment in the workplace, but the complete and utter lack of accountability for the individual responsible speaks volumes about the toxic environment that this company fosters.

What’s most disturbing isn’t just that the harassment happened—it’s how the situation was handled (or rather, not handled). The person responsible for the harassment was barely reprimanded and allowed to continue working, and in fact, nothing truly changed. The organizations' management acted like this behavior was somehow acceptable, brushing it under the rug to avoid confronting the uncomfortable reality that they’ve allowed such a culture to thrive.

This lack of action is not just an oversight; it’s a betrayal of every employee who should feel safe in their workplace. The response (or lack thereof) not only sends a message that harassment is tolerated, but also that the well-being and dignity of people is secondary to protecting the reputation of the company. It’s clear that "non"-profit and appearance mean more to them than the safety and respect of their staff.

The fact that this individual continues to work here without serious consequences sends an even clearer message: perpetrators will be protected, and victims will be silenced.

If you care about learning history in a respected and safe environment, I strongly advise you to look elsewhere. Garry Penman is a pervert who operates under an organization with zero accountability and zero integrity. Avoid this business at all costs.
