The Police Museum (Polismuseet) is a policing museum in Stockholm that is dedicated to the history of the Swedish Police. The exhibitions are arranged on two floors and show objects of the life of the police through time. One exhibition includes Swedish police uniforms since 1850. Another shows life before the introduction of patrol cars from the 1930s and the changes resulting from the motorization and the use of wireless technology. Upstairs a crime scene is reconstructed and another part deals with the role of the police in a democratic society. One area is specially designed for children.

The Polismuseet (Swedish Police Museum) in Stockholm offers visitors an informative look into the history and work of the Swedish police force. Located in the Östermalm district, this museum provides an educational experience for both adults and children.
Visitors appreciate the museum's interactive exhibits, which allow hands-on exploration of police equipment and procedures. The crime scene investigation area is particularly popular, giving guests a chance to try their hand at solving mock cases. The museum also houses a collection of historical police vehicles and uniforms, providing insight into the evolution of law enforcement in Sweden.
While many find the museum engaging, some visitors note that the information provided is primarily in Swedish, which can be challenging for non-Swedish speakers. However, some exhibits do offer English translations, and the visual nature of many displays helps bridge the language gap.
The museum is generally considered family-friendly, with activities that can keep children engaged. However, some visitors mention that certain exhibits dealing with real crimes might not be suitable for very young children.
The museum's size is modest, which some find disappointing, wishing for more extensive exhibits. However, others appreciate that it can be comfortably explored in a couple of hours.
Overall, the Polismuseet offers an interesting glimpse into Swedish law enforcement, though the experience may be somewhat limited for international visitors due to language barriers. It's a solid choice for those interested in police work or looking for an educational outing in Stockholm, but may not be a top priority for all tourists.
