The Claremont Graduate University (CGU) is a private research university located in Claremont, California. It is part of the Claremont Colleges, a consortium of five undergraduate colleges and two graduate institutions. The university is composed of seven separate units, each focusing on different areas of study.
The Claremont Graduate University is composed of seven separate units. These include the School of Arts & Humanities, the School of Community & Global Health, the Drucker School of Management, the School of Educational Studies, the School of Social Science, Policy, & Evaluation, the Center for Information Systems & Technology (founded by Paul Gray), and the Institute of Mathematical Sciences.
Founded in 1925, the Claremont Graduate University was the second institution to be established as part of the Claremont Colleges, following Pomona College. The university has undergone several name changes since its inception.
