The Parc zoologique de Barranquilla, also known as the Barranquilla Zoo, offers visitors a glimpse into the diverse wildlife of Colombia and beyond. Located in the urban perimeter of Barranquilla, this zoo provides an accessible escape into nature for locals and tourists alike.

The zoo houses a variety of animal species, with a focus on native Colombian fauna. Visitors can observe various mammals, birds, and reptiles in enclosures that attempt to mimic their natural habitats. The zoo's efforts in conservation and education are notable, with informative displays about the animals and their ecosystems.

Many visitors appreciate the zoo's compact size, which allows for a comprehensive tour without being overwhelming. The layout is generally considered user-friendly, making it easy to navigate between exhibits. The presence of shaded areas and resting spots is often mentioned as a positive aspect, especially given Barranquilla's warm climate.

However, some areas of improvement have been noted by visitors. The condition of certain enclosures and facilities could benefit from updates and renovations. Some reviewers mention that a few exhibits appear dated or in need of expansion to provide more space for the animals.

The zoo's commitment to education is evident through its guided tours and educational programs, which are particularly popular among school groups and families with children. These initiatives receive positive feedback for their engaging and informative nature.

While the Parc zoologique de Barranquilla may not compete with larger, more modern zoos in terms of scale or variety of species, it serves an important role in the local community. It provides an opportunity for environmental education and offers a pleasant, family-friendly outing in Barranquilla.

When I got there and saw the map, I was ecstatic to see that they have pandas, to my disappointment I was told that the pandas were not there. But they had an abundant amount of monkeys instead. Not to hate on monkeys but you could maybe replace some with the panda. Update your map or bring back the panda.🙎🏻‍♀️
