The Paper Mill, also known as Moinho dos Caniços, is a historic building situated in Leiria, Portugal. It is located on the left bank of the Lis River, east of the Church of Santo Agostinho and next to the Caniços bridge. This former mill dates back to the medieval era and was specifically created for the production of paper. Today, it has been converted into the Paper Museum.
Six centuries after its establishment, the mill underwent renovation works and in 2009, a museum space dedicated to the activities carried out there, such as the production of paper, flour, and oil, was inaugurated. This project was under the direction of architect Siza Vieira. The center mainly focuses on conducting workshops for the elderly, children, and school groups.
