The Palazzo Pistilli Museum in Campobasso offers a journey through six centuries of art history. This collection, formed by Michele Praitano over fifty years of research in Italy and abroad, was generously donated to the State in 2014. It provides a unique opportunity to explore a wide range of art periods and styles in one location.
The ground floor of the Palazzo Pistilli Museum is where the journey into the history of art begins. Here, visitors can admire sixteenth-century paintings and valuable examples of Neapolitan majolica and eighteenth-century painted ceramics. These pieces provide a glimpse into the artistic practices and aesthetics of these periods.
The second floor of the Palazzo Pistilli Museum is dedicated to paintings from the mid-eighteenth century to the early twentieth century. Visitors can immerse themselves in a variety of natural landscapes and mythological themes, experiencing the romantic sentiments of the eighteenth and nineteenth-century painters and the tastes of their patrons.
