The Lascaris Palace, museum of ancient musical instruments (French: Palais Lascaris, musée des instruments de musique anciens) is an old aristocratic palace and musical instrument museum in the old city center of Nice in France. It dates from the first half of the 17th century and houses a collection of around 500 instruments. The architectural style of the Palais Lascaris is baroque. The permanent exhibition of old musical instruments originated from the legacy of notable collector Antoine Gautier from Nice (1825-1904). Palais Lascaris has 1 rating.

The Palais Lascaris in Nice, France, is a well-preserved 17th-century baroque mansion that now serves as a museum of musical instruments. Visitors often praise its ornate architecture and decor, which provide a glimpse into the lives of the nobility in Nice during the 17th and 18th centuries. The museum's collection of over 500 musical instruments, particularly its rare and historical pieces, is a highlight for many.

The palace's restored rooms, featuring period furniture, frescoes, and tapestries, are generally well-maintained and offer an authentic atmosphere. Many visitors appreciate the audio guide, which provides detailed information about the exhibits and the building's history.

However, some guests note that the museum is relatively small and can be explored in about an hour. A few reviewers mention that some areas of the palace could benefit from better lighting to fully appreciate the intricate details. Additionally, accessibility might be an issue for some visitors, as the museum is spread across multiple floors with stairs.

The location in Nice's old town is convenient for most tourists, though a few mention it can be slightly challenging to find. The staff is generally described as helpful and knowledgeable.

Overall, the Palais Lascaris offers an interesting blend of architectural beauty and musical history, making it a worthwhile stop for those interested in either subject, though it may not appeal equally to all visitors.
