Osaka Castle, located in the city of Osaka in the Osaka Prefecture, is one of Japan's most famous castles. It played a significant role in the unification of Japan in the 16th century. The castle covers an area of approximately one square kilometer and is built on two elevated platforms, each surrounded by a moat.
The castle was originally built on the orders of Toyotomi Hideyoshi on the site of the destroyed Ishiyama Hongan-ji temple of the Ikkō-ikki. The construction was completed in 1583. The castle was initially built following the plans of Azuchi Castle near Kyoto, but it was intended to surpass the castle in strength.
Today, the castle houses a museum that is primarily dedicated to the history of the castle and the work of Toyotomi Hideyoshi. The 8th floor of the castle features an observation deck, offering visitors a panoramic view of the surrounding area. This combination of historical exploration and scenic beauty makes the castle a compelling destination for tourists.
