The Oldenburger Wallmuseum, often simply referred to as the 'Wallmuseum', is situated in Oldenburg in Holstein. This museum is dedicated to presenting the history of the Slavs in East Holstein. It provides a unique opportunity for visitors to delve into the rich cultural and historical heritage of the region.
The museum showcases many archaeological finds from Starigard, also known as 'Old Castle', which was the name of the Slavic Oldenburg in the early Middle Ages. These exhibits provide a fascinating insight into the life and culture of the Slavs during this period.
A highlight of the Oldenburger Wallmuseum is the replica of a Slavic village, built on an artificial island as an open-air museum. This interactive exhibit allows visitors to experience the everyday life of the Slavs. Regular events are also held here, further bringing the history of the Slavs to life.
