Visitors consistently praise the museum for its vast array of masterpieces, including works by Raphael, Rembrandt, Vermeer, and Titian.

The gallery's layout is well-organized, allowing for a chronological journey through art history. Many reviewers appreciate the spacious rooms and good lighting, which enhance the viewing experience. The Sistine Madonna by Raphael is often cited as a highlight, drawing particular attention and admiration.

While the collection is undoubtedly impressive, some visitors note that the museum can get crowded, especially during peak tourist seasons. A few reviewers mention that additional information in languages other than German would be beneficial for international visitors, although audio guides are available in multiple languages.

The recent renovations have been well-received, with visitors commenting on the improved facilities and the careful restoration of both the building and the artworks. However, a small number of reviewers find the admission price a bit high, though most agree that the quality of the collection justifies the cost.
