This museum is closed temporarily.
Newtown Textile Museum is located in an 1830s hand-loom weaving 'factory'. The building consisted of six back-to-back cottages on the lower floors and two large rooms which housed up to 22 handlooms on the top two floors. It gives visitors a chance to see how the handloom weavers of the mid-19th century lived and worked. The museum features exhibits related to: woollen industry, costume and textiles, social history and land transport in mid-Wales.

The museum is now closed for the winter Reopening in May for the summer season 2026.
Small group tours can be arranged during hours when the Museum is closed to the general public during October and April.
