The Naples Zoo, also known as Naples Zoo at Caribbean Gardens, is a 43-acre zoo and historic botanical garden. The zoo is home to about 70 species, although not all of these are on display at any given time. The main path is about a mile long and winds past the main animal exhibits through the tropical garden first planted in 1919. The zoo is nationally accredited by the Association of Zoos and Aquariums (AZA), and is an institutional member of the American Association of Zoo Keepers (AAZK).
The Naples Zoo is laid out with one major loop about 1 mile long that winds through the botanical gardens past the main exhibits. These exhibits include Alligator Bay, South American Exhibits, African Antelope, Clouded Leopards, Lake Victoria, Lagoon Loop, Giraffes, Fosas of Madagascar, Black Bear Hammock, Tiger Forest, Backyard Habitat, and Panther exhibit. Each exhibit houses different species, some of which are critically endangered.

Naples Zoo At Caribbean Gardens has 2 ratings.
The Naples Zoo At Caribbean Gardens offers a pleasant experience for visitors in Naples, Florida. This combination of a botanical garden and zoo provides a diverse array of animals and plant life. Many visitors appreciate the well-maintained grounds and the variety of exotic animals on display. The zoo's layout allows for easy navigation, and the exhibits are generally well-designed to provide good viewing opportunities.
Positive aspects frequently mentioned include the boat tour around the primate islands, which allows visitors to see monkeys and apes in a more natural setting. The giraffe feeding experience is also popular among guests. The zoo's commitment to conservation and education is evident through their informative talks and animal encounters.
However, some visitors note that the zoo is relatively small compared to others they've visited, which may impact the overall value for the admission price. A few reviewers mention that some enclosures could be larger or more enriched for the animals. During peak seasons, crowding can be an issue, potentially affecting the viewing experience.
The staff is generally described as friendly and knowledgeable, contributing positively to the overall experience. The zoo also offers amenities such as a cafรฉ and gift shop, though opinions on food quality and prices vary.
Overall, the Naples Zoo At Caribbean Gardens provides a good day out for families and animal enthusiasts, offering a blend of botanical beauty and wildlife encounters. While it may not be the largest or most extensive zoo, it offers a satisfying experience for most visitors, especially those interested in a more intimate zoo setting.
I went to Naples Zoo expecting a fun day and what I got instead was watching a boat captain (on one of their boat tours or river exhibits) casually knock an iguana out of a tree with a broom like it was some kind of pest-control chore. The iguana fell, and the guy just kept going like it was no big deal. Staff nearby didnโt step in or even look concerned. If this is how they handle animals when visitors are watching, I donโt want to know what happens when the cameras and guests arenโt around. This isnโt โwildlife management.โ Itโs lazy, cruel, and completely unacceptable for a place that markets itself as caring about animals. Save your money and skip this zoo. There are better places that donโt treat living creatures like props to be swatted out of trees.
