Source

The Muttart Conservatory is a botanical garden situated in the North Saskatchewan river valley, opposite the downtown core in Edmonton, Alberta, Canada. It is one of the most recognized landmarks of Edmonton. The conservatory is home to three city-operated greenhouses, public gardens, and four feature pyramids that display plant species from three different biomes. The fourth pyramid hosts a seasonal display.

Architectural Design of Muttart Conservatory

The Muttart Conservatory's unique structure was designed by architect Peter Hemingway. It consists of four glassed pyramids built around a central service core. The two larger pyramids cover an area of 660 square metres each, while the two medium-sized ones are 410 square metres each in size. These pyramids are dedicated to displaying plants from tropical, temperate, and arid regions, with the fourth pyramid used for seasonal shows.
