Museumshof Rahden is an open-air museum situated in the city of Rahden, within the Ostwestfalen district of Minden-Lübbecke in North Rhine-Westphalia. This location provides a unique cultural experience, offering a glimpse into the regional rural lifestyle of the 19th century.
The museum features a fully furnished farmhouse complete with all outbuildings, providing a comprehensive view of the regional rural lifestyle of the 19th century. Visitors can explore the various structures and get a feel for the living conditions and practices of the time.
The open-air museum site in Rahden-Kleinendorf spans approximately 3 hectares and contains ten individual buildings. These include the main house from 1689 with a farmer's garden, a storage building from around 1750, a bakery from 1560 which is the oldest building of the farm complex, a horse mill from 1860, the "Lütke Hus" which is a former day laborer's house from 1787, a carriage house, barn, sheepfold, wood storage, and a bleaching hut. Each of these structures contributes to the overall depiction of 19th-century rural life.
