The Museum Terra Triassica in Euerdorf, Unterfranken, is a unique institution that offers a deep dive into the geological history of the Germanic Triassic of the Central European Basin. Visitors can explore the fascinating world of the Triassic period, which spanned from 252.5 to 201.5 million years ago, and learn about the various geological transformations that occurred during this time.
The permanent exhibition at the Museum Terra Triassica offers a unique opportunity to travel back in time. It showcases a collection of fossils that document the changes in the Triassic world from 252.5 to 201.5 million years ago in the area of today's Mainfranken and the Rhön. These fossils provide insights into the environmental conditions, the animals and plants that lived during this period, their extinction or emergence, and their life in their ecosystems.
In addition to its indoor exhibits, the Museum Terra Triassica also offers outdoor experiences. Visitors can explore two geological educational trails, the "Path through Time" and the "Panorama Path Wine and Stone", which provide a hands-on learning experience about the geological history of the area. There are also five geological adventure points, where visitors can see outcrops in the Buntsandstein and Muschelkalk.
