The Sonnenplatz-Apotheke, a historic building located at Sonnenplatz 4 in Tauberbischofsheim, Main-Tauber-Kreis, was in operation from 1810 to 2006. After its closure, it was converted into a pharmacy museum, which was managed until the death of its last owner, Henning Briegleb, in 2019.
The pharmacy was relocated to its current location at Sonnenplatz 4 in 1810 by Carl Augustin Hergt. The museum, which was open from 2006 to 2019, housed an Empire-style dispensary furnished with dark cherry wood, dating back to this period.
The museum showcased a variety of historical items related to the practice of pharmacy. These included folios on natural and pharmacy history, as well as a range of tools used by pharmacists to prepare medicines, tinctures, ointments, powders, and suppositories. The collection featured mortars, scales, suppository machines, powder blowers, distilling and filtering devices, pill machines, ointment tube fillers, and bowls for mixing musk preparations, among other items.
