The Pierre Chalita Museum of Art (MAPC) is situated in Maceió, in the state of Alagoas, Brazil. This private institution is maintained by the Pierre Chalita Foundation, ensuring its continued operation and preservation of its collections.
Established in 1980 as the Museum of Sacred Art, the Pierre Chalita Museum of Art houses a significant part of the private collection of the painter Pierre Chalita. The collection includes works from Brazil and other countries, created between the 17th and 20th centuries, with a notable emphasis on sacred art.
The Pierre Chalita Museum of Art is located in an old mansion that spans 800 square meters. Situated in Floriano Peixoto square, in the heart of the Alagoan capital, this building also serves as the headquarters for the Pierre Chalita Foundation.
