The Museum of National Resistance (MRN) is a network of museums dedicated to the French Resistance during World War II. Its main site is located in Champigny-sur-Marne, a town situated to the east of Paris. This museum is part of a larger network that includes other sites across France, making it a significant point of interest for those interested in the history of the French Resistance.
Since February 2020, the Museum of National Resistance has expanded its exhibition and educational spaces to a new site, the Aimé-Césaire space. This site is twice as large as the previous one, providing ample space for the museum's extensive collection. The Aimé-Césaire space was formerly a departmental educational documentation center, further emphasizing the museum's commitment to education and the dissemination of knowledge about the French Resistance.
The Museum of National Resistance is home to a significant collection related to the Spanish Civil War and World War II. This collection is continually preserved, enriched, and enhanced, ensuring that visitors have access to a wide range of artifacts and documents that provide insight into these historical periods. The museum's collection includes over 4,000 donations, collected since the 1960s, and represents nearly 700 linear meters of archives, more than 5,000 objects, a collection of fine arts, major film and photographic funds, a heritage library, and a vast set of documentary resources.
